Coaching: From Janene’s Perspective
I had the pleasure of working with Elise Foster for 9 months on a company initiative designed to strengthen our leadership team. Some of the most valuable exercises were the practice sessions of difficult conversations, where a variety of approaches were tested and alternative motives examined. These exercises helped me understand that my interpretation of motives and intentions of others could easily be different than intended. Another helpful exercise was thinking about what I wanted the end result of difficult conversations to be and acting accordingly (as opposed to needing to “win” the discussion). I found her style to be patient yet direct, and her feedback was spot on – which led to true improvement.
This doesn’t do justice to how much you helped me over that period… I’m not sure how to say “she’s wonderful and so worth it!!!”
